artist: The artistic talents of Renee Mox Hall were first recognized
as a young girl growing up in Kansas. She received many awards for
her artistic endeavors and went on to New York to study art. In the
late 1970's she returned to Kansas to finish her studies at Washburn
University in Topeka. Her artistic style is influenced by renowned
Watercolor artist Edgar Whitney and Frank Francese. Moving to Utah
in 1990 Renee discovered a new world of inspiration. Her scenes of
Park City and the Mountain West are loved by locals and visitor alike
while her Travel Log series transports the viewer to exotic foreign
destinations. Renee works exclusively in watercolor as she values its
interpretative and expressive qualities. She is an active member of
Park City Professional Artists and Utah Watercolor Society. She and
her husband Wade, a professional picture framer, live in Park City
where they own and operate HallMox Art & Framing.
art: Described as "Interpretative Realism in Watercolor Imagery" Renee's is more
about an interpretation of a scene than an actual record of an event.
Her colors lean heavily on those found in the textures and senses
of the earth. The palette of the American West landscape and its
peoples and wildlife provide an unending source of ideas and inspiration.
