Michal Patten grew up in and around Washington D.C. In college she studied Chemistry and Psychology and later earned a graduate degree in Computer Science. Michal spent the majority of her work life in medical research and the computer software industry. Along the way, she balanced her science-oriented day jobs with various creative pursuits learning to spin wool, weave rugs and baskets, make stained glass and various techniques important for making silver jewelry.
